A new journey has begun

We have embarked on an ambitious journey with NATIVE, the first B Corp in Italy and Benefit Societies in Europe, a strategic partner in our evolution toward a business model regenerative, sustainable and humane.

For us at Miccolis Bus, it's not just about doing business. We want to do enterprise in a different way, putting the planet, people and the future at the center.

Why this change

In the first set-up and training meeting we explored topics that are fundamental to our transformation:

  • I ecological limits of our time and the need for a new growth model.

  • I first principles of sustainability, as a guide for business decisions.

  • The new rules of the game: the regulatory environment and international trends.

  • The Benefit Model, which places value for all stakeholders at the center of economic activity.

What it means to be a Benefit Society

Being a Benefit Society means to incorporate, in the corporate charter, one or more objectives of common benefit. This approach implies:

  • Responsibility to people, communities and the environment.

  • Transparency and consistency in choices.

  • Long-term commitment to positive and measurable impact.

The Benefit Impact Assessment (BIA): A tool for measuring and improving

The BIA is an advanced questionnaire, developed by B Lab, that helps companies assess their social and environmental impact.

The BIA analyzes 5 key areas:

  1. Workers - Conditions, welfare and professional development.

  2. Community - Land relations, inclusion and social responsibility.

  3. Environment - Consumption, emissions, waste management, and biodiversity.

  4. Customers - Value created by products/services, security, and privacy.

  5. Governance - Ethics, mission and transparency in decision-making.

Currently, updates are underway to move beyond the cumulative score-based model and introduce new mandatory standards in seven subject areas, with minimum requirements that must be met to achieve or maintain B Corp. certification. Making the achievement of certification more rigorous and geared toward real impact. This approach ensures that all B Corp certified companies meet minimum standards in each critical area, promoting greater transparency, accountability and consistency with the mission of generating value for society and the environment.

Why the BIA is so important

  • Measure the actual impact: numbers and data to understand where we are.

  • Highlights areas for improvement: guides us through change.

  • Transparency to stakeholders: demonstrates our commitment.

  • It is the first step to becoming a B Corp: an ambitious but concrete goal.

  • Strategy Guide: a compass for integrating sustainability into corporate DNA.

Our destination: to become B Corp

We are convinced that the traditional business model is no longer sufficient To meet the challenges of the future. That is why we have embarked on a ambitious and transformative path: become a Benefit Society is Make concrete efforts to obtain B Corp certification.

Along with NATIVE, we started the engines towards a new way of doing business: More conscious, responsible, and oriented toward generating a positive impact. The first step was to start Measuring our social and environmental impact through the B Impact Assessment (BIA), a rigorous tool who will guide us through the continuous improvement.

Diventing a B Corp is a journey. A journey of daily choices, independent assessments, and an unwavering commitment to creating value for people, community, and planet.
