Monopoli, Oct. 26, 2024 - Presentation of the new Otokar Kent C CNG buses for greener and more efficient public transport in Puglia
The Municipality of Monopoli, in collaboration with the Apulia Region and the mobility management consortium Ati Miccolis-Lentini, today presented the seven new Otokar Kent C CNG model buses, state-of-the-art vehicles for increasingly sustainable and efficient urban mobility. These vehicles were assigned with usufruct rights to Ati Miccolis-Lentini in order to increase the quality of local public transport.
Features of the new Kent C CNG buses
The new 10-meter-long, low-floor Otokar Kent C CNG buses are powered by natural gas and are in the Euro 6 emission class, the most advanced in terms of environmental friendliness. Each vehicle is designed to carry up to 89 passengers, 25 of whom are seated, and features innovative on-board equipment: multimedia monitors for real-time information, an advanced passenger counting system, integrated video surveillance, and additional accessories to enhance comfort and safety. Supplied by Otokar Europe, these buses are an important technological resource for ensuring more environmentally friendly mobility and air quality in urban centers.
A renewal under the banner of ecology
The arrival of the new Otokar Kent C CNG buses marks an important step forward for the sustainability of public transport services in Puglia, in line with the goals of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRP). Thanks to funding from the National Plan for Complementary Investment (NRP) and funds allocated by the Ministry (Dm 315/2021 - D.D.N. 35 of March 18, 2024), these environmentally friendly vehicles will replace as many obsolete vehicles, reducing the environmental impact and improving the efficiency of transport services.
